A new batch of cases is ready

• Velka 5 and 7 cases will be available for order starting now

Black Flex ATX power supplies

To match the quality of the chassis, we will be offering blacked-out 600W ENP-7660B power supplies as part of a bundle with the Velka 3 and 5. These were made with shortened cables and without any unnecessary peripheral and floppy connectors for easier cable management.

Recent case upgrades

A few changes have been recently made to improve the durability and cooling efficiency of the Velka 3, 5, and 7 cases.

The front portion of the internal frame as well as some parts that secure the front panel and graphics card to the frame are now made from stainless steel.

Some vents have been added to the bottom of each case and the vent areas in the rear have also been increased. In addition to the regular low profile 2 mm rubber feet we usually include with each case, taller 4 mm rubber feet will also be included.

Hardware compatibility is unchanged.

Please note: the user manuals do not yet show the added vents.

A small quantity of each case and power supply will be available for pre-order starting July 31st at 16:00 UTC.

The majority of cases and power supplies will be available for order after they come back in stock and are ready for shipment.

An update on progress- almost ready

Manufacturing is complete and we are waiting to receive some shipments from our manufacturers. To ensure timely order fulfillment, we plan to start accepting orders for a small portion of this batch on July 31st and to start shipping from the USA around the middle of August. The majority of cases will be made available for order and immediate shipping around the same time as the cases ship for the first round of orders.

Shipping

We plan to ship worldwide from the USA for this batch, starting at approximately $12+ for 3-day shipping to the USA, $44+ for 1-week shipping to Canada, $55+ for 1-week shipping to other countries. Shipping fees will be slightly higher for orders of larger cases and orders of case and power supply combos.

EU distribution

We may open up another distribution channel in Europe in cooperation with Density Labs some time in the future to offer our EU and EEA customers some savings on import fees and potentially faster shipping. If this applies to you, please let us know us of know what you are interested in here to help us improve availability.

A small quantity of white Velka 3 cases and some black pre-production units of a new APU case called the Velka 3-RL, will be available for purchase May 25th, 3:00 pm central time. Shipping available to USA only.

Power supplies will not be available until July, so please only consider this option if you can source your own Flex ATX power supply.

The New Lineup

These models have been redesigned from the inside out, moving away from our original design philosophy for making the least expensive ultra SFF cases we can produce to the most balanced ultra SFF cases we can produce.

As such, we are now complementing expensive hardware layouts involving internal cables and numerous metal parts with improved materials, finishing, and quality control to improve their quality to price ratio. Likewise, we are simplifying the hardware layouts of our less expensive cases to allocate more resources into better materials without increasing the price (see Velka 3-RL below).

Availability is expected in late July.

Material changes

The first priority was to improve structural integrity and to resolve small hardware compatibility inconsistencies while keeping the original back-packable form factor.

• 1.2-1.5 mm aluminum all-around construction superseded by 5 mm aluminum front plates, 1.2 mm steel frame parts, 1.0 mm steel side panels

• Total weight: 1.5 kg - 2.0 kg

Velka 3-RL (4.1 L)

A new design that improves on the functionality of the original riser-less Velka 3.

Now featuring a simple two-piece structure for easier assembly, thicker aluminum, and increased CPU cooler clearance for larger stock AMD coolers.

Velka 3 (3.9 L)

Moved Flex ATX mount to top for improved cooling. Removed HDPLEX power supply support, removed 80 mm exhaust fan support, now intended only for builds with discrete graphics.

Velka 5 (4.9 L)

A new case with an old name for those who want a Velka 3 with extra graphics card clearance. Slightly smaller desk footprint is an extra bonus.

A case featuring hardware compatibility more similar to the 2019 Velka 5 model, with a new name. The Velka 7 layout improves on the 2019 Velka 5 layout by having all IO at the rear.
